Michelle : President
Michelle’s passion for helping animals in need started at a young age. As long back as she can remember, her family took in dozens of animals, Little did she know this passion of hers would turn into helping run a dog rescue.
As an adult Michelle’s first real rescue was a sweet little dog named Bailey. Bailey had been tossed into a dumpster and left to die. Michelle took her home with the intention of finding her a good home. She quickly realized that she was there to stay but that sparked a fire in her to take rescue to the next level. She began fostering for Promise 4 Paws in 2018 and decided right away that she needed to be more involved.
“I’ve always loved animals, loved being part of the community and getting people involved. What better way to bring it all together than to help run a rescue. Rescue animals have taught me so much about life and the unconditional love that they have for you, never fails to amaze me with all they’ve been through. They truly have made me a better person.”
Michelle is the proud mama to 4 kids, 1 kitty and 2 dogs and is very involved in the daily functions of Promise 4 Paws. She finds rescue one of the most rewarding jobs she’s ever had.

Gini : Foster/Volunteer
My mother passed away 3 years ago. I knew I had to do something to make her proud. She loved dogs, although you wouldn’t know it with 6 kids and me being the youngest, bringing home strays cats, dogs, baby chicks, rabbits and turtles. She was fit to be tied! I feel compassionate about this dog rescue. Every time a dog is adopted or I’m fostering a dog, I feel the arms of my mother wrapping around me. I’m thankful for all the people I’ve met. I consider myself blessed to be a volunteer with this group of such wonderful, kind, giving and caring people.

Beth : Foster/Volunteer
I’ve worked in and volunteered in shelters and rescues in Washington, New York, Mississippi and California. Promise 4 Paws is the cream of the crop. I choose to support them because they are truly saving and rehabilitating animals in need and finding them quality life-long, loving homes. They promote animal well-being and never sacrifice in the care the animals receive, be it medically, emotionally, through needed training, socialization, etc. Their fosters are well supported and there’s a wonderful feeling of community in the group. We are proud to be part of the Promise 4 Paws pack!

Kathy – Founder/foster
As long back as I can remember, I have always loved animals. I grew up in So Calif with cats, dogs, rabbits, mice, hamsters and tropical fish. During my first visit to a pet store I bought 2 tiny white mice in order to save them from becoming a snake’s meal. Most of my allowance was spent at the pet store. In my bedroom I had a fish aquarium, a mouse cage and a Habitrail. My parents did not share my enthusiasm for pets, but they tolerated it and for that I’m thankful.
I first realized my passion for rescuing animals in 2014 when a friend asked me if I would foster a pregnant pit bull. Someone tied this poor very pregnant dog to a street poll in Los Angeles, in 100 degree heat, and abandoned her. I couldn’t believe someone would do this to their dog. Even though I already had 2 dogs of my own, I agreed to foster her. My friend drove to LA to save the dog, brought her to my house and helped me whelp her puppies. Mama dog had 5 beautiful pittie puppies. As I watched those puppies grow, I was so happy they were in a safe home being loved and cared for. We found them all wonderful permanent homes and it brought me such joy to be a part of saving those precious lives. That’s when I knew I found my passion. I went on to foster and rescue more than 100 dogs and puppies…..and will continue to save as many animals as I possibly can.

In 1980 someone asked if my wife Sue and I if we would foster a collie mix that had been rescued from running around Doheny State park near the freeway entrance. He didn’t have a collar and no microchip could be found when we had him checked at our local veterinarian. He was such a great dog that after a few months and no owner trying to find him, we decided to adopt him and called him FREEWAY.
From that day forward my wife and I have been rescuing and finding new loving homes for lost, abandoned and abused dogs. We realize that rescuing is an up hill task and that without a Spay/Neuter policy in place we will always be just scratching at the surface knowing that millions of dogs each year will be Euthanized due to over population.
People ask how can you continue rescuing knowing that so many dogs will be PTS. Short answer, the joy that we get from seeing a poor helpless dog find a loving forever home is priceless.
GOD [dog backwards] wanted dogs to be mans best friend because they give UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, much needed in today’s climate.
Please FOSTER for us, we can save more lives.

Robin – VP – Board Member
I started out volunteering at my local animal shelter and then began fostering dogs that needed a place to stay untill their forever homes could be found. All the dogs on my lap are all foster fails or current fosters.
I am know a board member with Promise4paws and there isn’t a day that goes by that we’re not all working to rescue the dogs that need our help.

I’m married, and have 3 feline children, Maggie, Birdie, and Galileo, all adopted from shelters. They and my husband have been great sports in supporting my passion to help animals in need. I started fostering only about a year and a half ago, when I found myself with lots of time on my hands for the first time in my adult life. I’m so happy and honored to be a foster volunteer with Promise 4 Paws and look forward to helping many, many dogs (or cats) find their forever homes! I have been in dog rescue for many years and get so much joy being a part of saving dogs lives. Volunteering has been so rewarding and gives dogs a second chance at a happy life. I feel so blessed to be a part of Promise 4 Paws and making a difference.
